Lovejoy Seeks Your Vote for Sheriff

As our campaign draws to a close and Election Day is here, I am writing to ask for your support and more importantly your vote. I am proud to be a candidate for the Office of High Sheriff in Rockingham County. I grew up in a law enforcement family and my father was a police officer in my hometown of Hampton and later served as a New Hampshire State Trooper. More than fifteen years ago, I founded Execuguard International, a company that provides security consultant services to a wide array of businesses, and currently serve as its President. I continue to be active in the security and investigations field and in the past have supervised uniformed security officers. Through my work in this field, I have had the privilege of working with, leading, managing and directing some of the best trained and educated senior level retired law enforcement officers and military personnel. As a small businessman for more than 25 years I understand how to be a responsible administrator and an effective leader. In 1997 I was honored to be selected as a finalist for the position of High Sheriff when it was vacated by then Sheriff Wayne Vetter.

As the chief executive officer of a large police department with a multi-million dollar taxpayer funded budget, I would bring a strong administrative and successful business mindset to the position combined with my years of experience in a similar field of service. As a taxpayer, I understand times are tough and will work to provide the best services possible for the people of Rockingham County and find innovative ways to expand and promote your Sheriff's Department.

I decided to seek election this year in the hope to bring change to the department and increase morale amongst the employees. A signal to me and my supporters that change was needed was the lawsuits that the county has endured stemming from the Sheriff's Department in recent years. In addition to change from within, there is much that the department can do for the residents of our county including the expansion of youth initiatives in our schools and elderly programs in our communities. When is the last time you saw one of your sheriff's deputies in your neighborhood or at a local community event? I would work to streamline paperwork services and prisoner transports in order to provide more active patrols throughout the county, putting more police officers on the street. By restructuring the current deployment of deputies, I believe we can provide better services to the residents of the county and help ease the growing burden on our local police departments.

I promise to work hard for the residents of Rockingham County and lead our Sheriff's Department into the future with hard work and a collaborative approach. Please vote for David Lovejoy for Sheriff on Tuesday!
